At 36th AGM: Members Salute NtaCCUL Management for maintaining 6% Interest on Savings, reduces Interest on Loans

By Martial Gnoukapasi Union members at 36th AGM at the Bamenda Congress Hall Members of the Ntarinkon Cooperative Credit Union have given a "tap on the back"  to management, for successfully piloting the affairs of the Union in their best interests in 2022. The members who assembled at the Bamenda Congress Hall on Sunday January 29 for the 36th Annual General Assembly Meeting, greeted the innovations put in place by the board to secure financial inclusion of the members despite the health and security challenges which characterized the business climate, aggravated by the war in Ukraine which made it almost impossible for some members to meet up with their engagements in 2022. The board president, Fru Isaac Taku, in his management report to the owners indicated that, the union experienced a growth rate of 21% on savings in 2022 as compared to 2021, which made it possible for them to maintain the payment of 6% interest on savings to members in 2022. In addition, nearly 800,000 people have been displaced as a result of this crisis, and 600,000 children do not have full access to education. “Canada welcomes the agreement by the parties to enter a process to reach a comprehensive, peaceful and political resolution of the conflict. They took the commitment Thursday , January 19 during the 4th quarter follow up session, dedicated to evaluating the state of execution of projects allocated to the division in 2022. Two ELECAM bosses killed within 24 hours in Bamenda

Popularly called ( In charge), John Fai was beaten to death by a mob at New road neighborhood in Bamenda 3, this January 19th 2023. According to our sources, a thief who was caught early Thursday morning 19th of January 2023, breaking into a house at the neighborhood, had disclosed that John Fai was his boss. The thief is reported to have revealed that his boss Kahyi John Fai has been buying all the stolen items he and his gang brings to him. The thief equally revealed other deals with John Fai in relation to stolen items. Rev Fonki Samuel has noted with satisfaction the activeness of the church in humanitarian activities all through 2022 He was speaking recently in Buea while sending out his new year message of peace to Cameroonians, highlighting the vision of the church for 2023. " We are so happy to have had a law enforced by our synod which made it possible for humanitarian activities to be budgeted for in all congregations and departments. Though most Christians were already playing their role in this regard, the law gave the approach order which enabled the church to quantify data of humanitarian activities for future reference and work.." At the close of 2018, the sociopolitical atmosphere in the North West and South West regions was cataclysmic.  The level of violence and destruction had hit unprecedented heights with many fearing for the worst. But President Paul Biya, in his usual wisdom opted for a fresh approach to address the concerns of the people of the two English-speaking regions.    He made known his resolve when he addressed the nation at the end of 2018.  Thus, the country entered 2019 with a new government under the directive of the Head of State given firm instructions to take actions towards turning the tides around.   With this new Presidential resolve, came a change in government.  President Biya reshuffled the cabinet.
