The moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC), the Rt. Rev Fonki Samuel has noted with satisfaction the activeness of the church in humanitarian activities all through 2022

He was speaking recently in Buea while sending out his new year message of peace to Cameroonians, highlighting the vision of the church for 2023.

"We are so happy to have had a law enforced by our synod which made it possible for humanitarian activities to be budgeted for in all congregations and departments. Though most Christians were already playing their role in this regard, the law gave the approach order which enabled the church to quantify data of humanitarian activities for future reference and work.."

He noted with satisfaction that over 60,000 souls were impacted with the evangelism and humanitarian activities of the PCC, though not everyone was fortunate, owing to the anglophone crisis facing the two anglophone regions being the North West and South West.

" Many asked for help in diverse forms but it was very challenging to satisfy them all. The challenges are still there which tasks us further to cover more grounds in terms of our humanitarian activities in 2023.."

"If the church stops being hopeful then the world and war is lost. so even with our meagre resources we're still hopeful that this 2023 we'll continue with humanitarian activities and make the PCC more relevant in the lives our people, Cameroonians in general" he added

The PCC he said remains a symbol of Hope and they who are the Shepards are giving in their best to gather the flock and if not, why help play their mission as a peace broker to bring normalcy in the North West and South West regions of the country by way of sermon and action.

One of the main projects realized in 2022 was the construction of a gigantic structure hosting the Synod office of the PCC baptized "The Faith Project" . Rev Samuel Fonki Forba used the occasion to appreciate the Christians for championing and realizing the project which was innugurated and dedicated on Nov.20th of 2022.

"Through this project we now know that God is still alive and on the throne and in control of his church, now we do not see any fears as we enter 2023 as thesame God will help us realize other projects.."

The PCC as explained by the moderator intends to embark on school and hospital construction projects amongst others in 2023 while continuing it's humanitarian activities.

On his message to Christians and Cameroonians he urge them to let go of the past.

"..we really hurt ourselves in 2022 like in other years but I think we've come to a realization that we need to live together as brothers and sisters, forgive each other because I know of instances where we've torture each other and the pain and trauma is there in our hearts, but to achieve peace we need to let go".

He laid emphasis on the need to show love, compassion and care for each other.
