By David Babiaka Municipal Updates Daily, one of Cameroon’s widely read daily newspapers, will celebrate its 10th anniversary on October 10, 2026, with a ceremony at the National Episcopal Conference in Yaoundé. The anniversary marks a decade-long journey that began in April 2015, when the newspaper was founded in Buea by its Publisher and Editor-in-Chief, Cham Victor Bama. Municipal Updates has since evolved from a modest weekly publication into a daily newspaper. It was relaunched as a biweekly publication in 2020 before attaining daily status in 2022, a significant milestone in Cameroon’s media landscape. Newspaper’s Next Phase According to Cham Victor Bama, the anniversary celebration will also serve as an opportunity to unveil new projects and initiatives that will shape the newspaper’s next phase. By Martial Gnoukapasir  CAMTEL's GM Shake hands with SIC DG after signing of agreement Cameroon Telecommunications (CAMTEL) and Cameroon Real Estate Corporation, better known by its French appellation, Société Immobilière du Cameroun (SIC), have signed a framework agreement aimed at improving internet connectivity in SIC social housing structures across the country. The agreement was signed Wednesday, October 7, at CAMTEL's head office in the nation's capital, Yaoundé, and provides for the gradual deployment of optical fibre in existing SIC housing and the integration of connectivity infrastructure into the corporation's future housing programmes. The partnership is intended to bring internet services closer to residents, allowing them to study, work and carry out administrative tasks online from their homes. The oath was administered during a meeting with Interior Minister Paul Atanga Nji at Up Station on Monday, October 5, during his three-day working visit to Bamenda.  The minister provided copies of the Bible for Christian riders and the Holy Koran for Muslim riders as part of the exercise, calling on those who showed up at the meeting to take the two Holly Books to their colleagues to swear by them, base on their faith.
