Bamenda: DDR Centre graduates pioneer batch of kids into Nursery, Primary schools

By Martial Gnoukapasi Graduating pupils The graduates, 10 in number are children belonging to ex fighters of the Ambazonian struggle who surrendered their arms and joined the North West centre for Disarmament, Demobilisation and Re-integration. Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the kids, the center's coordinator Kum Henry Ichu revealed that some of the ex combatants came to the centre pregnant, some got entangled became pregnant and put to birth at the centre. This to him is what motivated the creation of a Pre-nursery and Nursery school unit at the centre to offer these children formal education like is the case with  other children in the country. "We deemed it necessary for these children to have formal education immediately they grew up to school - going age. They deserve the education and care other children in the country gets" says Kum Henry who applauded the head of state for making this happened. Malomba Esembe rewarded with Knight of the Order of Valour Medal

Malomba Esembe, has been greeted with the superior accolade of the Knight of the Cameroon Order of Valour by the head of state during the 2022 national day celcelebrati in the country. South West governor Okalia Bilai did the state the honour of decorating Hon. Malomba with the topmost medal at the Buea Independence Square where festivities marking the Golden jubilee celebration of Cameroon's reunification of 1972 unfolded. Bamenda:Minister Mbayu Felix shares in the blessings of Ramadan, feast with Muslims

By Martial Gnoukapasi Donations from minister Mbayu Felix to Muslims of Ntambag quarter Muslims in Cameroon like elsewhere will in the days ahead celebrate the first of their two most important canonical festivals of Islam, the Eid al-Fitr  otherwise known as the "fast-breaking", which comes to mark the end of the holy Islamic Ramadan month of fasting. As tradition has seen it, the minister delegate at the ministry of external relations in charge of the Commonwealth, Mbayu Felix, a son of the soil and patron to the Ntambag community popularly known as 'Old Town' in Bamenda has donated food items to enable the Muslim community celebrate this very important feast. Tubah Mayor says construction of 'sheds' poses no threat to Bamenda University

By Martial Gnoukapasir Tubah Council mayor speaking to the press on construction site of new market stalls Tanjong Martin, mayor of Tubah Council, a municipality hosting the university of Bamenda in a press outing has claimed that the ongoing construction of market stalls directly opposite the Bambili market poses no threat to the university of Bamenda as insinuated by the Vice Chancellor. The mayor was speaking Tuesday April 26th at the site where the construction of the new market block was ongoing. " ... i don't understand what is happening and I'm surprised. I received a call last Wednesday from the SDO for Mezam telling me that a complain has come from the Vice Chancellor of the university of Bamenda (Uba) saying the council is constructing sheds inside the university of Bamenda, disturbing students from learning.... before I arrived  Tubah I got a summons from the Divisional Officer of Tubah on thesame issue.." Sisterspeak237 Digital Literacy Contest: Winner of March edition known

By Martial Gnoukapasi Sisterspeak237 under it's Digital Literacy Project, has made known the winner of it's Digital Literacy Contest for the month of March. The 3rd edition has as winner Eyong Taku who submitted a video entry titled "Fake News" Eyong Taku is a Level 200 pharmaceutical Technology Student of the Gracious Higher Institute of Excellence. She, just like the winners of the previous two sessions demonstrated an understanding of how to combat fake news, misinformation and Hate speech. The project lead for Sisterspeak237 in the name of Wanchia Cynthia in a statement reiterated that; " This Digital Literacy Contest is part of our Digital Literacy Project currently under implementation with funds from the US Embassy in Cameroon. We kicked off by training 46 youths and influencers in the south west region around these concepts.and who at the end took a commitment to use tech for the promotion of peace and truth guided by the following hashtags  #Toktrue #Pep
