Mbigha Felix presenting trophy to governor
The 2018/19 football season in the North West region was quite a difficult and challenging one for both officials and lovers of the game. This is oweing to the fact that the region is one of those that still finds it very hard to swallow, the bitter pill given them to chew by the Anglophone crisis.
This unfortunate reality however, still couldn't deter the aspirations of the current NW Fecafoot team, that's only been in office for a period of nine(9) months, going by the last election.
Even the numerous lockdowns and ghost town operations, coupled with the insecurity that characterized the season, still didn't make the officials and clubs, take away their eyes from the prize.
The result of all the hard work finally paid and is still paying off as;
-North West mini inter-pools regional champions Foncha Street FC, returned with a trophy and an elite two qualification ticket.
- Vision Sports FC Bamenda gained, admission into the feminine league one championship.
-A PWD player currently with the under 23 lions
-Another player from Simaf mbengwi is currently on an expediture with the baby lions at the junior world cup in Brazil.
- Six referees catapulted to various ranks at the national level.
Mbigha Felix facing the press
North west Fecafoot president Mbigha felix, monday October 14th at a brief ceremony meant to present his achievements to governor Lele L'Afrique Tchoffo Deben said and I quote
"Though with the crisis, we did our best and prepared the teams so well, which gained them their qualification at this level. Qualifying means the north west has the best teams and best players so far. Our appeal is therefore for the authorities in charge to help us with a field. We've had a meeting with the governor in this regard"
Elaborating on these achievements, secretary general of Fecafoot NW Ndi Tsembom Elvis told the governor and entourage that Foncha Street FC & Vision Sports FC were ripe and ready enough performant-wise, to stamp their foot prints in the elite championships of our time.
The two squads he added, picked up all six(6) points at the national inter-pools to find themselves were they are, after giving their opponents in the region a run for their money.
Vision Sports FC by their qualification, was also breaking a curse and myth that left the region barren without a representative in the feminine league 1 for almost a decade in the country.
And out of eight referees that competed for promotion, six succeeded. This makes the region, the highest to have produced professional referees in the just ended season.
A financial motivation was handed over to the teams by the governor.
The success story for facafoot NW too much. Kudos
