The founder of the VictoryMarshal Ayafor foundation(VIMA), has donated hygiene and sanitation kits, food items to inmates of the Bamenda disarmament demobilization and reintegration centre on the occasion of her birthday celebration.

Stretching a humanitarian hand to ex fighters of the anglophone struggle on her birthday she said the initiative, aligns with the mission of her foundation which is focused on giving relevance to life and making the world a much more better place for all.

".. It's my tradition, every year I choose to give out on my birthdays. I've done so in the prisons, orphanages etc and I thought it wise to come celebrate and fellowship with the inmates of this centre this year. There's nothing more important than giving as inscribed in the book of life .So it's love for the nation, for these ones who've decided that love for fatherland should prevail by dropping their arms. I wouldn't have derived the fulfilment, joy and satisfaction I've had here today if I had choose to drink with friends"

She baptized them with a new name - The Golden Pillars, encouraging them to see themselves as the golden pillars of the future of this country and not ex fighters.

As she screamed 'Golden pillars' they responded 'Proud to be'

"You are the root of the next Cameroon and I encourage you all to dream and think big. All is not lost and don't forget you were all born with a purpose. I encourage you to remain patriotic. This is the beginning of a brighter future for you all" she added.

Receiving the gifts on behalf of his fellow inmates Yutah Christopher, the senior prefect said such actions only spur them to continue in their call for others in the bushes to join them at the DDR centre and benefit from the reintegration packages.

He applauded the director for making possible for them to get all the support they need and the donor for gifts.

The director of the center Kum Henry thank the VIMA chair for putting smiles on the faces of the inmates, acknowledging that it adds impetus to the psycho-social they require in their re-integration process

" I encourage other institutions and elites like her to come and stand by these children. I think if others can replicate such actions, then it will go a long way help in the peace building process we all yearn for"
