Digital rights activist, publisher of the Colbert Factor feasts with journalists in Bamenda
Publisher of the famous Colbert factor which articulates salient issues about the North West region and the country as a whole, who doubles as host of flagship program Presstalk over ndefcam radio in Bamenda has celebrated the life of journalists practicing therein.
The digital rights advocate at the centre of an event organized by the regional assembly to celebrate culture, rallied journalists who turned out for coverage and shared an uncommon drink with them.
Mr Bamenda as he's famously known, explained that the "reason d'etre" for ensuring that journalists feel comfortable at the event is simply motivated by the fact that " at the end of this year again no journalists has lost his life and that Inspite of the crisis facing the region for over 5 years now , journalists are still able to brave the odds and perform their duties to the admiration of their respective audiences"
Journalist Colbert Gwain adds that most journalists have fled the region, others abandoned the profession because of the crisis.
Mr Bamenda ask said “The gesture is to appreciate the journalists for their resilience in doing their job amidst the ongoing conflict in the region. Many journalists have escaped the heat for safety out of the region and these ones are still here. It’s but normal to celebrate them. Bravo. ”
Mr Colbert Gwain in his latest article of the 'Colbert factor' has called for belligerents of the anglophone crisis to ceasefire in order to enable inhabitants of the city of Bamenda especially and the two troubled regions as a whole celebrate Christmas and new year.
