North West Regional Assembly donates school needs to promote back-to-school

The 14th Ordinary Session of the North West Regional Assembly has come to a close with donations of back-to-school materials to schools and students.
With aim to promote academic excellence, and education in the region that witnessed a timid start for the 2024/25 school year.
Among the items distributed were 32 state-of-the-art computers with printers and complete accessories, 2,000 school bags, and a staggering 20,000 exercise books.
The initiative also extended to provide 2,700 birth certificates across the 34 municipalities in the region, along with 103 certificates of excellence awarded to outstanding students.
Speaking at the event, the representative of State, Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique, commended the initiative from the Regional Assembly and urged beneficiaries to use the donations effectively.
"These gifts are not just tools; they are pathways to a brighter future. I implore you to make good use of them and strive for academic excellence," he said.
The recipients were equally moved by the Regional Assembly's benevolence. Muluh Esther, an Upper Sixth student of GTHS Bamendankwe, expressed her gratitude, saying, "I am deeply thankful for this support. It’s a motivation for me to excel, and I promise to make the Region proud in my studies."
Prof. Fru Angwafo III, President of the North West Regional Assembly, highlighted the Assembly’s commitment to education as a pillar for development.
Closing the session , he called on community leaders, parents, and teachers to ensure a smooth and successful back-to-school transition.
He also encouraged them to work toward fostering clean, safe, and drug-free schools while combatting youth delinquency.
This significant gesture by the North West Regional Assembly is more than just a donation; it’s a bold step toward enhancing the educational standards of the region. It sends a strong message of hope, resilience, and a future where education is at the forefront of development efforts.
