Celebrating Biya's 42 years in office: Senator Regina Mundi pleads for president to pay another visit to Bamenda

"We are calling on you Mr President, this is your second home, please do come back and visit your children, we are waiting"
The above words were uttered by the interim Head of the CPDM permanent regional delegation to the north west, senator Mrs Regina Mundi Wednesday November 6 2024, amidst celebrations marking 42 years of the ascension of president Paul Biya to the highest office of the country.
The political bureau member of the Cameroons People Democratic Party, the CPDM made the called while addressing supporters and sympathizers of the party at the Bamenda Congress, where the party was launched under the new deal government in 1985.
She told the supporters to always celebrate president Paul Biya, describing him as a dedicated servant whose outstanding services has often led to him being endorsed democratically by all through the ballot box.
She saluted the head of states efforts in driving the country towards emergence, calling on supporters of the party in the region to continue to play an exceptional role improving the country.
The North West region she continued " is not blind to the efforts of the president to ensure stability, prosperity and peace in Cameroon" .
To the supporters again she said "Our region is part of the global plan of president Paul Biya, we must give the opportunity to steer this ship with us all as passengers to prosperous shores".
The poli bureau member also saluted the tactful manner use by the president in ensuring the implementation of the decentralization process, building schools and ensuring that healthcare comes to the people that the north west at almost no cost, thanks to programs like the Universal Healthcare now covering pregnant women, children and patients undergoing dialysis in health centres across the nation.
Adding to that is the construction of the Bamenda -Babadjou road which is near completion and the assurance of the head of state in ensuring that the ring roads in Bamenda becomes a reality in the nearest future.
Senator Mrs Regina Mundi also saluted the diplomatic strategies of the president, which she said it largely contributed in putting Philemon yang at the centre of global diplomacy.
Peace is the bedrock for any activity to thrive in any nation. While celebrating the efforts of the president in accelerating the peace and progress of Cameroon, she regretted the unfortunate scenario perturbing stability in the North West region, asking president Paul Biya not to relent in his efforts in sueing for peace.
While acknowledging that a series of avenues have been created by the head of state to sue for peace like the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration centres, the senator expressed the desire to see persons with varied opinions expressed them through the ballot box.
"We pray that all those in the region should see that the ballot box is the only place where difference in opinion are manifested "
Speaking earlier, the section president for mezam 1B condemned the targeted attacks on militants of the party, the brutal assassination of the second deputy of the Bamenda II Mayor as the latest casualty.
The celebrations at the Bamenda congress hall concluded with a motion of support read by professor Motia Rose, naming president Paul but as their 'natural' candidate for the up coming presidential election in the country next year 2025.
