Funded by the World Bank to the tune of 4.9 billion, some 10,700 vulnerable farmers, with some already benefiting, are expected to harvest from this program.
improved seeds like Cassava, potatoe, Maize, plantains and vegetable crops are being handed to them to imprive yields.

In an effort to meet up with the seed distribution to farmers under the project, the Authority is currently carrying out potatoe seed multiplication on some 2.5 hectares of land in Santa and Maize multiplication on some 10 hectares in Menchum.
MIDENO's technical director, Ndeh Emmanuel, presented a good number of projects which he said were the success stories of the Authority in 2024.
He mentioned the construction of an equipment pool for the structure in Nkwen to facilitate the opening of roads, construction of bridges and the building of culverts.
MIDENO, he said, also put up a Kola Coffee shop (a coffee brand of the North West Cooperative Association, NWCA) within the premises of MIDENO to encourage local consumption of the home grown Coffee.
He also cited the installation of an irrigation scheme in Nkwen for the multiplication of plantains. Another project realize thanks to MIDENO.
In partnership with the Ministry of Public Works, MIDENO will be initiating the third phase of the construction of the 41.7km road linking Mile 11 Santa through Awing to Galim which will facilitate a smooth movement of persons and their farm produces.
The second phase currently stands at 95% and MIDENO is spending 287 of the 653 million budgeted for the entire road.
This will greatly ease the traffic on the Bamenda-Babadjou road and will be considered as the second entrance into Bamenda.
The North West Development Authority, MIDENO has partnered with the Nkambe council to reduce pollution, increase sensitization of the population on household management and the eventual transformation of household waste. This after the council emerged first in the Regional Clean City contest
Cletus Anye Matoyah at the event said, other councils are eagerly waiting for MIDENO to partner with them, which is possible thanks to the pilot phase in Nkambe.
Speaking on staff management, Bawe Ernest Ndi who's the administrative and finance director of MIDENO, indicated that alot has been done to clear the outstanding arrears at CNPS. Meaning those who retire from the authority can now actively receive their pensions.
MIDENO has also acquired tractors for mechanized agriculture and after putting up a fence around it's office at veterinary junction in Bamenda, plans to carry out other works to beautify the structure.
Asked why despite all these efforts, prices of foodstuffs continue to be on the rise in the region, the General Manager of MIDENO, Cletus Anye Matoyah said, this is occuring due to the increment in the prices of fuel and also because of road blockages that almost prohibits people from going to their farmlands.
He said if MIDENO were not playing its role, there would have been general hunger in the region.
He concluded his assessment of the year by announcing that 2nd phase of the Livestock and Fisheries Development Project(LIFIDEP), will be launched in 2025.
