In a heartfelt message to employees, external collaborators and social partners of CAMTEL, on the occasion of the celebration of the 2026 international labour day - dedicated to work, merit, and human dignity, the General manager of Cameroon Telecommunications, Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi, acknowledged  the workers efforts, describing it,   the driving force behind the overall and recent accomplishments of the company.

She expressed her appreciation to her workers, shortly after participating at the labour day march pass and festivities at the May 20th boulevard in the nation's capital Yaounde.

Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi, began her address at the CAMTEL Club in Yaounde,  by honouring the memory of colleagues who have passed on in the course the year.

" I am thinking especially of Mrs. Lisa ZOGO NDJOMO, wife of MINTYENE, a member of the organizing team for these celebrations, who stood out for her dynamism, commitment and ability to mobilize others. She passed away while actively participating in sporting activities related to the International Labour Day Celebrations", the GM said, followed by a moment of silence to honour her memory and that of departed others.

She went on to thank her staff for their daily commitment, resilience and collective energy day after day, to keep CAMTEL alive and serving Cameroonians digitally.

" this sense of service, resilience and expertise was clearly demonstrated to the entire world during the recent World Trade Organization (WTO) Conference held here in Yaounde.... thanks to your expertise, CAMTEL ensured a flawless telecom coverage. Professionalism that was once again evident during the recent visit of the Pope to Cameroon", she added.

The GM also used the occasion to thank the President of the Republic, His Excellency Paul Biya, for securing via the EXIMBANK of China, a collosal amount of CFAF 108 billion for phase IV of Camtel operations to improve quality of service and connect cameroonians from the urban centres to the most remote areas together.

She also used the occasion to decry and shun elements of fraud and acts of betrayal against the company and the state, fuelled by complicity which sometimes results to systematic failures, promising administrative, disciplinary and even legal consequences to fraudsters and their accomplices.

"Every cable cut, every site vandalized etc, translates to a service disruption and a Cameroonian deprived of connection".

She called for collective vigilance and a culture of network protection. Emphasizing that private business activities during work hours are prohibited, as they affect productivity.

She also used her address to encourage professionalism, proper conduct towards customers and the importance of maintaining cordial relationship in front of customers.
