"with rumours of a case of the virus already reported in baffoussam which is  a very close neighbor to this region, we have to be extra careful and follow strictly the measures taken to prevent the spread"

Meantime commissioning the mayor and his deputies, Mooh Emile Simon laid emphasis on the need for the strict respect of the code on decentralization in the management council affairs.

Mayor Mbigha Njah Felix age 40, who before mayor had served the Bamenda I municipality as councilor for seven years and doubles as north west Fecafoot's president, in his keynote address, promised to work in tandem with the vision and aspirations of the people within his municipality and will need their total support and collaboration for that to happen

mbigha facing the press

" I will do my best to ensure that peace comes back to my community and when that happens, i believe we'll develop this community. I count so much on the indigenes of bamenda I for this to happen. They have to join me in ensuring we develop the area together. The development asssociations, the quarter heads, the youths, i'm reminding them of the fact that a youth has taken over office. So wherever they are, it's time for them to come out and join me so together we can develop this community"

The out-gone mayor Caroline Bi Bongwa among others will be remembered for her fight against public consumption of cigarettes in Bamenda I.
