Ntaccul@50: NW Governor applauds union for aligning with state in combating poverty

The governor of the North West region, Adolph Lele Lafrique has commended the efforts of Ntarinkon Co-operative Credit Union for joining the fight against poverty in Cameroon.
The governor was speaking saturday March 23 at the metropolitan cathedral big mankon hall where he joined thousands to 'fete' the golden jubilee anniversary of the micro finance house.
Governor Lele Lafrique flanked by other administrative big wigs of the region extended his unreserved applause to members of the board, referring to them as veritable stakeholders in the fight against poverty in Cameroon.
" I will like to on behalf of the state and government, to congratulate the board of directors and all the stakeholders for the growth of the union, and for contributing to alleviate poverty through loan granting to economic operators in the region and the country".
He thanked them for their impact and achievements, standing tall above others within the Central and West African sub regions in Credit Unionism.
Ntaccul turning 50 was an opportunity for those who had been at the helm of affairs, to beat their chest for proudly taking the union into the "Hall of Fame" where it finds itself today.
Matoya Cletus Anye, is former board president of the credit union. speaking at the anniversary celebration he said "... when we took over, we started by restructuring, we knew it will pay off in the long run. I am excited that these reconstruction have taken the union to it's rightful position"
Ntarinkon credit union in existence since 1972 has been able to mobilize close to one hundred thousand creditors whose return on investments and shares now stands at 6% annually.
With 15 branches spread across 7 regions in the country, the union is proud to be conducting business in 5 structures which is theirs
Their latest building stands conspicuously in the nation's capital, precisely in Melen.
The Golden Jubilee celebration accorded an opportunity for the current board of director Fru Isaac Taku and his team to reward outstanding staff members, pioneer members, former presidents plus the former General Manager.
The above in their respective circles contributed towards the success of the union.
Ntarinkon credit union has developed a mobile app which gives members the opportunity to carry out banking transactions within the comforts of their home.
The union also operates the automatic teller machine services and has been able to grant loans to members to the tune of 43.9 billion since it's existence.
The 50th anniversary celebration witnessed the cutting of the anniversary cake and popping of the anniversary campaigns
