CAMTEL Shines at the 22nd International Cycling Tour of Cameroon

The 22nd edition of the International Cycling Tour of Cameroon has come to an end in the country, with CAMTEL demonstrating it's unwavering commitment to the development of sports through its strategic sponsorship of the prestigious competition.

Cameroonian Rodrigue  Kuéré Nounawé of the SNH Velo Club emerged as winner of this edition launched on June 2nd in the city of maroua by sports and physical education minister, Pr. Narcisse Moulle kombi in the presence of Camtel's general manager Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi. 

Throughout the competition, CAMTEL's mobile network brand Blue, enjoyed remarkable visibility, with branded banners, podium displays, promotional materials, and prize presentations prominently showcased at various stages of the race that featured 10 stages, culminating with the Mbalmayo-yaounde stage measuring a 115.7km on June 14.

The company's strong presence highlighted its role not only as a telecommunications provider but also as a key partner in promoting sporting excellence and national unity.

The lone Telecommunication giant's sponsorship of the race, gave extra colour and was particularly evident during stage ceremonies, where winners received prizes amid a backdrop of Blue branding, reinforcing CAMTEL's message of staying connected through sports.

CAMTEL and it's Blue brand contributed significantly to the successful organization of the roughly 1,000.2 kilometers race, providing both visibility and resources that enhanced the overall experience for athletes and spectators alike.

The cycling race, from the inaugural stage along the 12.6km Maroua -Mora-Maroua route, attracted competitors from Cameroon and several other countries, offering a platform for the 46 competing athletes to demonstrate endurance, determination, and competitive spirit.


CAMTEL's involvement, especially with the colourful podium decorated in the company's colors, reflected its broader corporate vision of supporting initiatives that bring communities together and inspire young people through sports.

In addition to branding along the race route, CAMTEL's presence was visible during prize award ceremonies that pulled out local authorities, sports administrators and cycling enthusiasts of the various towns that served as host to the cyclists. 

The company's sponsorship contributed to enhancing the event's organization while bringing spectators closer to the action. It also underscored it's dedication to promoting healthy lifestyles, youth engagement and national development through sporting activities 

Through Blue, CAMTEL continues to prove that beyond connecting people through technology, it is also helping connect Cameroonians through sport, passion, and national pride.


By standing with the first Lady Chantal Biya through this 22nd edition of the International Cycling Tour CAMTEL is simply saying that it remains a valuable partner whose investment contributes to the success and sustainability of one of the country's most celebrated sporting events.

Crowning the winner 

The race eventually crowned Cameroonian cyclist Rodrigue Eric Kuéré Nounawé of the SNH Vélo Club as overall winner.

Nounawé delivered an outstanding performance throughout the competition, notably claiming victory during one of the northern stages and ultimately securing the coveted yellow jersey.



The race, brought together cyclists from Cameroon and abroad for ten days of intense competition across several regions of the country, begining in Maroua before embarking on a challenging route that included stages linking Maroua, Mora, Figuil, Garoua, Yaounde, Bafia, Bangangte, Douala, Limbe, Kribi, Pouma, Mbalmayo and Yaounde.

The Blue brand branded banners, podium displays, race village installations and prize-giving ceremonies featured at various stages of the tour.
