Rent And Tax Reduction For Businesses In Bamenda II Municipality - Mayor Chenwie Peter.

Mayor Chenwie Peter who made the remark tuesday March 17th during his installation said, reducing rents and taxes within a reasonable period of time will empower business men and women economically and this will cause a ripple effect within the council area.

The 43 year old Ph D holder in information technology who swore an oath to office at the court of first instance in mezam on March 12th, also used the occassion comissioning him and his deputies to office, to outline other projects he considered priority for the municipality. 


They include;

-The re-introduction of public Taps to reverse the persisitent problem of water supply.

-Reverse the bad Hygiene and sanitation situation being experienced by the population at all levels  within the municipality.

-Scholarship assistance to the underpriviledge children and financial support to health centres.

-Grading and maintenance of existing roads to ease movements.

-Extension of electricity to remote areas of the council to improve on the living standard of the people.

-Create employment opprotunities for hard working youths.

"I have been voted as mayor for bamenda II and not for a political party. The leadership of the bamenda council has been vested in the hands of young and dynamic persons armed with the skills to bring meaningful developmental projects according to the needs of our people. We are a team you can trust in the next five years"

"...Work starts now and we'll have to travel out of the country if need be to lobby for funds that will enable us execute these projects, and we shall be counting greatly on the support that will come from the population".

As to how the councilors will overcome the challenge of insecurity in attaining enumerated programs,  the mayor said. "We intend to contribute in our way to the efforts of the administration for the return of peace and normalcy in Bamenda II".

The Mayor and his deputies we're asked to set aside party differences and work for the common good of the people.
