Cameroon's Defence Minister Says 3 Of 9 Involved In Kumba Massacre Have Been killed.

Minister delegate at the presidency in charge of defence Joseph Beti Assomo says 3 of the 9 armed men involved in the gruesome murder of school children at the Mother Francisca college in fiango-kumba on October 24th this year, have been killed, following a number of investigations and missions carried out by the military on high instructions of the commander in-chief of arm forces president Paul Biya.

He made the information known Friday Nov. 20th in a meeting bringing together security stakeholders of the north west region in Bamenda.

For the close to 30 minutes that the security conclave was open to the press, minister Beti Assomo, who led the joint military mission said the purpose of embarking on the working visit, was to meet and convey the head of states message of encouragement to security elements in the region for the laudable job they've been doing, some of whom have lost their lives in the process.

"The duty you discharge enables us to secure people and their property. I wish to reiterate here on this special occasion, the strong determination and engagement of our defence and security forces, to assist government and local authorities in their traditional duty to guarantee all children of school going age the right to education and a better future, so they can play their part in no small way in building the Cameroon of tomorrow", he said

He said their presence in the region was eloquent proof of government resolve, to provide an effective and definite solution to the crisis that have been tormenting the people for years.

He called on the security agents to strengthen security dispositions as the region prepares for the regional elections and end of year festivities.

He also insist for security dispositions to be strengthened on those who've picked up arms against the state and were involved in inhuman and barbaric acts such as kidnap for ransoms, torture, bringing about untold sufferings to the people of the region.

The increase in the execution rate of the public investment budget for 2020 in the region is an indication that life was gradually returning to normal- he noted.

"people from the two regions continue to call our services, telling us enough is enough, that they are tired of the crisis".

The setting up of the DDR centre he maintained is part of ongoing security reconstruction efforts.

The joint security mission to the north west region brought him, the delegate general for national security Martin mbarga Nguele and the director general for external research.
