Wum Council Defines, Budgets 2021 Plan Of Action.

To realize the 2021 budget baptized, 'the budget of Gratitude Reconstruction and Inclusive development', adopted to satisfy the needy and desperate aspirations of those within the Wum municipality, Mayor Dighambong Anthony Mvo and the councillors said they are determined to 'change the changeable, accept the unchangeable and remove themselves from the unacceptable', to provide the most cherished development the people of Wum awaits.

"This will necessitate us to climb mountains, not so that the world can see us but so we can see the world", he intimated.

The budget of 950,050.000(Nine Hundred and fifty million, fifty thousand) FCFA adopted Wednesday December 3rd at the council premises balances in income and expenditure.

The projects targeted by the said budget include:

: EDUCATION

The council in 2021 intend to rehabilitate and purchase supplies to schools within the municipality.

-2 classrooms and head teachers office of GPS group 1 will be rehabilitated.

-Rehabilitation of 2 classrooms and head teacher’s office at GPS Zonghefu group 1.

-3 classrooms and head teacher’s office at GPS Zonghefu group 2 and rehabilitation of 2 classrooms and head teachers office at GS Agulli.

-Supply of benches to some schools in Wum Municipality

:WATER, ELECTRICITY AND HEALTHCARE

-Installation of Solar lighting system at the Wum Mortuary and Wum Urban Integrated Health Centre.

-Installation of Solar lighting system at the Ukpwa Integrated health centre.

- Rehabilitation and purchase of medical equipments, as well as the construction of a mini fence around the Wum Urban Integrated Health Centre

-Purchase of Bikes for the Bu integrated health centre.

-Rehabilitation of the Parking lot in front of the Wum district Hospital.

:ROADS AND MARKETS

-Purchase of a second handed road equipment (front head loader) for the council.

- Rehabilitation of road linking Magha – Wazooh – Zonghefu – Zonghekwo.

-Construction of a box culvert of 7m in Waindo JOPACC road.

-Construction and repaving of the road around the Wum main roundabout.

-Construction of a metallic cross ring culvert D.1000 along the main street at the end of Wum main Market

-Construction of 32 market sheds in Wum main Market.

--Construction of a cattle vaccination crush in Bu village.

-Construction of an embarkment and enclosure wall behind at the Wum main Market.

Administrative and council authorities

: INFRASTRUCTURE, TRAINING & INCLUSION

-Capacity building Initiative to strengthen women’s participation in the peace process in Wum (Benevolent Sisters of Aghem - BENS).

-Creation and construction of two access Ramps for persons living with disability to access Wum council modern buildings.

-Rehabilitation of a council building and transformation to Wum council Mesuem.

-Landscaping of the New council Hall yard with the construction of two retaining walls.

-Planting of Pillars for the demarcation of all council landed properties.

-Construction of a workshop for the manufacturing of compressed Bricks.

-Purchase of transportation equipment (PRADO) for the Chief Executive.

-Acquisition and supply of office furniture for the Wum council new main office

:AGRICULTURAL & ECONOMIC PROGRAMS
- Support to youths farming groups in (Kesu, Ketcha, Waindo youths).

-Supply of equipments for the needy population in Wum Municipality.

-Creation of council farm of about 5Ha of Poultry, Pineapple, Plantain and Pepper.

:EVENTS

-Organization of the Wum Council Unity Tournament and the Wum Council Annual Festival, the “WAF”

- Financial support to persons living with disability and vulnerable women groups.

The Senior Divisional officer for Wum Abdoulahi Aliou saluted the council for the strides made in 2019 despite the challenges and implore the councillors and the entire Wum community to rally behind their mayor for a successful realisation of the 2021 projects.

The budgetary session presented an opportunity for mayor Dinghabong Anthony to thank the population for their limitless prayers which earned him the prestigious post of Senior Vice President of the United Councils and Cities In Cameroon, the UCCC.
