Barrister Nico Halle Ndessi

Former president of the Cameroon Bar Association who served the legal structure for close to four years, a member of the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism (ncpbm) has said the time for lies telling and feeding the head of state Paul Biya with false information is over.

He made the statement while responding to an assertion made by North West regional bereau chief of the Post newspaper Chris Mbunwe, on what he thinks are the drivers of hate speech and xenophobia fanning the flames of the crisis in the two english speaking regions.

Ntumfor Nico Halle who described himself as a non people pleaser, asked a plethora of rhetorical questions

" what has happened to the elites of these regions being destroying by this crisis? Have they told the head of state the truth? If they've done so, have there been any follow up? For four years running we expected them to have said the truth. Truth sets us free and if you lie nothing happens. We've been living in lies and we are very specialized in lies telling. Covering things up"  he lamented.

Nico Halle who was in Bamenda for a 3-day campaign against hate speech and xenophobia organized by the national commission for the promotion of bilingualism and multiculturalism, placed under the distinguished patronage of president Biya, also told reporters at the end of program that during the presentations the participants also underscored the need for the construction of the Bamenda-babadjou road.

" Time for hypocrisy is over, time for falsehood and lies telling is over. To fight the cankerworm of hate speech and xenophobia we must start telling the truth. For those people who've been lying we have to tell them, they don't have the right to deceive the powers that be. They should tell the truth. The truth will set us free." He added.
