Sisterspeak237 Digital Literacy Contest: Winner of March edition known

Sisterspeak237 under it's Digital Literacy Project, has made known the winner of it's Digital Literacy Contest for the month of March.

The 3rd edition has as winner Eyong Taku who submitted a video entry titled "Fake News"

Eyong Taku is a Level 200 pharmaceutical Technology Student of the Gracious Higher Institute of Excellence.

She, just like the winners of the previous two sessions demonstrated an understanding of how to combat fake news, misinformation and Hate speech.

The project lead for Sisterspeak237 in the name of Wanchia Cynthia in a statement reiterated that;

"This Digital Literacy Contest is part of our Digital Literacy Project currently under implementation with funds from the US Embassy in Cameroon. We kicked off by training 46 youths and influencers in the south west region around these concepts.and who at the end took a commitment to use tech for the promotion of peace and truth guided by the following hashtags #Toktrue

#ThinkB4UClick"

The Sisterspeak237 Digital Literacy Contest began in January with spoken word poet Penboy emerging as the maiden winner. While the February edition was won by Ngwa Norah.


The April edition was launched Sunday 24th April and will mark the end of the Contest.

Bamenda Regional Hospital Emergency Center, Inaugurated

The Centre which will hence, handle emergencies and critical injuries at the regional hospital was Inaugurated Saturday October 11, by North West governor Adolph Lele Lafrique in the amidst other dignitaries. A project executed by the North West Regional Assembly with funds from the state, the centre according to the director of the Bamenda regional hospital, Denis Nsame, will go a long way to assist in the handling of critical health cases when they come. Mayor Chenwi Peter plants himself in a group photograph among Canadian dignitaries The leader of the Bamenda II municipality, mayor Chenwi Peter is currently on a working visit to Canada for the 3rd time. By Martial Gnoukapasir  Mayor Chenwi Peter hands 7million cash to YCPDM National President Militants of the youth wing of the ruling CPDM party in the North West region have contributed Seven million francs CFA cash, to support president Paul Biya register his candidature when the polls are called for the presidential election expected in October. This is coming amidst multiple calls within the ranks of the party in the region and beyond, for the president to seek another mandate by standing as their natural candidate in the upcoming polls.
