Humanitarian: Prophet Vicky Atanga's XAF500000 Futsal Tournament for Bamenda Central Prison Inmates, launched

The Chief Shepard of the "Let There Be Light" ministry in Bamenda, Prophet Vicky Atanga, has launched the 2nd edition of the "Vicky Atanga's Futsal Tournament" for Inmates at the Bamenda Central Prison.

This second edition of the competition to run for a month will end on March 10th.

According to the man of God, his motive for this humanitarian gesture is to put smiles on the faces of the inmates and see them serve their sentences in good conditions.

He told the inmates that it makes him happy, to see them Happy, adding that the prison serves as a reformation center which presents a rare opportunity for them to reflect, change and adopt a healthy lifestyle once they leave the place.

"This is not the end of your lives, I encourage you once you leave this place, to become better, come back and do for others, what I am doing to you people now" he intimated.

Speaking to MNews, prophet Vicky Atanga, chief shepherd of the let there be light ministry situated at old town Bamenda, explained his choice of the Bamenda central prison

"I choose the Bamenda Prison because it's in my home town. I do alot of charitable works here and the last time I came, they told me they love tournaments, games, like football. I also see them as my own brothers and sisters and this is the second tournament im organising here. " He said

The Bamenda central prison superintendent has appreciated the initiative and has called on the inmates to adopt a responsible and healthy attitude all through the tournament like they've done with other competitions. He encouraged them to use the competition and turn their lives around, and make a career out of it.

Prophet Vicky, donor of the Vicky Atanga's futsal tournament, says the same activity will be replicated at the kondengui prison, from where he's also received an invitation to organize something similar.

To note that the tournament is not the only humanitarian activity the servant of God has carried out at the prison.

As explained by the pictures above, there have been a number of donations consisting of huge consignments of food items, other materials like mattresses, bathings and sewing machines to help some of the inmates gain skills in sewing etc.

Before leaving, he promised to extend his humanitarian activities to include the Provision of healthcare to the inmates at the end of the tournament.

He also said, he will be donating another consignment of sanitary items as well as take care of the fee of some well-behaved inmates who are due to leave prison but can't afford to settle their accompanying fines.
