Camtel stands out at 13th edition of Government Action Fair in Yaounde

One of the major highlights of the Government action fair better know by it's French appellation as 'Salon de l’Action Gouvernementale' (SAGO), that opened at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex July 24, 2024 was the not just the presence of the country's lone telecommunications but the expantiation of the company's engagement in transforming key sectors of the Cameroon's digital economy.
Bringing together key stakeholders of the public and private sectors, Camtel used the occasion to showcase the remarkable strides it's making towards advancing Cameroon's digital infrastructure.
Thanks to the expertise of Camtel, major participants at the fair are able to showcase their "Savoir fair" at the eight(8) days event expected to ckose its to close july 27.
Speaking at a press conference conference which marked the opening, CAMTEL's managing director Judith Yah Sunday epse ACHIDI traced the institutions evolution since creation in 1988, evolving from a fixed-line operator to becoming the key in Cameron's digital transformation.
"CAMTEL has established a digital foundation on which the country's future rest" she said.
She highlighted the company's flagship initiatives amongst which include; E- agriculture and E- education, which are creating a huge impact in the dail lives of Cameroonians.
Infrastructural Development
The head of Camtel's marketing department - Christian Etoundi Ngaba, speaking at the presser shed more light on the company's technological prowess, notably the structure's certified data center which peoud itself of being the first in Central Africa, plus the deployment of a total of 128000km of optical fiber across Africa.
“CAMTEL does not just follow technological trends, we create them, ” Ngaba said
He indicated that the company has been able to create 6,000 direct jobs and 500,000 indirect jobs via CAMTEL’s initiatives.
Other Achievements
Through the conference, it was explained and demonstrated how a plethora 9f government services have been modernized thanks to Camtel.
From simplified customs operations to obtaining a passport within a timeframe of 48hrs. All engagements taken to better the daily lives of Cameroonians.
The realization of digital Sovereignty, securing the country's data on home soil thereby guaranteeing our digital independence.
The above are all success stories the company pride itself to be the architect.
Providing answers to common questions
Questions were thrown to the managing director and structure, regarding Camtel's quality 9f Internet services.
In responding to this Judith Yah Sunday epse ACHIDI said "As an infrastructure provider, CAMTEL offers exceptional capacity and quality of service. We call on all operators to optimize their equipment to get the most out of it."
Higher education ministry representative at the on going event have acknowledged Camtel's contribution in the of E-education milieu which has largely facilitate their potential to access quality education.
Camtel On the move
The 13th edition of SAGO clearly demonstrates that CAMTEL is is at the heart of the countrys digital transformation.
Keynote speakers and presentations have outlined the pivotal role of the company in improving governance and citizens well-being.
CAMTEL, since it began organising a series of themed events to celebrate it's 25 years of existence, has shed more lights on hownits been accompanying and intends to improve the process of ensuring that public and private sectors accompany the company and government in the digital transformation of the country to meet with SND2030.
SAGO 2024
The 13th edition of the Trade fair for government action was launched July 22, 2024 by cameroon's communication minister Rene Emmanuel Sadi on behalf of government.
Over 230 exhibitors, comprising of government entities, enterprises/ businesses are using the modern technology offered by camtel at the fair to showcase and advertise opportunities to the over 200,000 visitors expected at the 8-day event
